presidential photography
I came here for to write on one topic but now have another two in mind. I vaguely recall in an English language class of the sixties being taught "one topic" per essay or was it one topic per paragraph. Well maybe it was so back then, but with the upset, upheaval and change in everything these days, I can do as I wish with my thing and who don't like it can lump it. It is sad to see the the wanton disrespect pervading our society now-a-days, and it is not just some of the young people whose parents may have abandoned them, but some older folks, who we seem to feel that we should expect better from. But it is like these older ones are glad for the excuse to go on bad. I guess they feel trapped in time and now welcome the excuse to be their true self.
Early o'clock I learned that me, myself and I alone run my show, and that the responsibility was all mine. When you know that you know, you function and operate differently, and things like peer pressure is not prime time in your life. I seem to be getting outside the scope of this blog, but sometimes one just has to let off a teeny weeny bit, not to maintain any sanity, but because it may be the right thing to do in times like these. You notice more and more in the media how the subject line and the content is in mismatch? It is like some authors on a hard axe grinding mission, and the subject line is just to qualify for publication. I guess if we looked hard enough we could read between the lines, see the code and extract the hidden secret message. This blog installment might just qualify too ... presidential photography.
These days I find that I am operating like a president, having to retract earlier statements. No, not in an apologetic manner, but as I continue to acquire [old age] wisdom, a certain amount of backtracking and sidestepping is necessary, and luckily for us, nothing is cast in stone, like the Flintstones. Some folks are become so inflexible, no wonder they become obsolete prematurely. If a piece of wisdom, like a feather, lands on you tomorrow, just shift your direction, irrespective of the colourful Caribbean adjectives used to describe your action. At the end of the day it is you and you alone will face the music, if any, so the lyrics had better be in sync and right as rain.
So I made the decision not to discus any aspect of photography on my blog, but I am slowly retracting those statements in light of request made by some Facebook friends and no doubt photo album viewers. All the information that anyone could ever want on any aspect of photography is available on the Internet, but some folks don't know how to nor where to find it. Just try Google. My knowledge of photography is far, far less than 1%, if it was close to 0.5% I would be a genius. But out of the little bit that I can recall, and with help from Google, I will try to help some brother or sister to take another photographic step in the right direction.
My view is my view and based on my own experiences. What works for me, may not work for you. It is foolhardy to just blindly adopt someones else's recommendations, but sometimes it works out okay. Over the years I have come to recognize that some authors are not 100% honest. Some throw in bogus information, some willfully leave out stuff , and others don't know a thing about what they write. But this is the 21st century, where the computer is becoming king, and if your computer can't test, check and verify the integrity of the information at hand ... well, you are still on your own and in the dark.
So what was the question? I don't recall it, but the answer is CANON.
After using the Pentax brand cameras for over 20 years, in 1988 I made a switch to Canon with the T-90 model, and never looked back. Now another 20 years later, should I switch to another and better brand of camera? Some folks swear by Nikon, some by Olympus, but I am not swearing, only staying with my Canon brand, EOS camera models, and "L Series" lenses. This is the best camera and lens system available on the planet today. No, I am not getting paid for any promo. It's just an undeniable fact.
