Banks Beer 'girlie' pics upset
Another day. Another upset.
I wake to what is a beautiful GOD given day. We may not know what else will happen, but we do know that everything that is created under the sun will be in its place, looking its best and giving thanks to its creator. Some people can hear the birds chirping. Some people can see the birds doing their chirp. There are other who will ask what bird? what chirp? They cannot hear or see the bird right in front their eyes. This is not anything new and it is nothing to be ashamed of when it happens to us, as it will at some point in our life. We get so caught up and distracted with our way of living that we do not hear and see as we used to. But when we become aware of what we are missing, we need to pull it back, and make some adjustments to out lifestyle and living.
Many things are easier said than done, because even though we know we are going down the wrong road, sometimes we like it so, and hope that somebody will change it for us. But life does not work so. Living is a very personal matter, where everyone takes personal responsibility, and it should not matter what anyone else believes, or say. Regrettably, we all get taught by someone, to emulate their 'values', among other things, but that may not be the right 'set of values' that we were created to adopt. Some of us still can't respect others for their difference, and feel the need to 'convert' the world.
Speaking of respect and difference, I see on Facebook that Banks in Barbados is putting out their annual calendar, 2014. On an older computer I had a copy of all the Banks Calendars from about 2004. I see today that some people are being themselves, being most disrespectful of the difference of the Bajan young ladies, and the Bajan people. I have not seen a copy of the printed Calendar, so I am not inclined to comment, but the photos that people seem to feel are going to be on the calendar, seem to be upsetting to some people.
Everyone has a right to feel how they feel and to express how they feel in words, so long as that expression does not interfere with other people, in a number of ways. Of course some people do not take this seriously in some of our Caribbean communities. But that is the way it is dictated. Our people are know for chat and criticism, whether warranted or not. Just show us anything, no matter how good it is, and we can find the most despicable and down right nasty things to say about it. You know the usual thing "just make up as you go". That is the known "dark side" of our Caribbean people, and it has nothing to do with upbringing. As we grow older and develop, we subscribe to the "uplifting" principles, and operate ladylike and gentlemanly, as our society dictates. It is not true that there are some people who do not develop, they just develop negatively.
As one who take pictures occasionally, I do not have any issue with the banks images that seem to be upsetting some people. I am not going to magnify my computer screen 400% to see between the legs of the ladies modeling the beach wear, but it seem that some people did, from what they say they can see, but I can not. Maybe I need to get one of those high resolution screens that can see a fly on the moon. I have also taken time out to look at the Bajan Paparazzi photo album, and I am not seeing any of the photos which are causing the upset. Maybe the Bajan Paparazzi missed that part of the show. Just because something is on show does not mean that it will make the final cut.

If the above link does not work look up
Here is the cause of the upset, not sure it will be here forever
I believe that we should compliment the young ladies who seem to have overcome the difficulty of living in our communities. It is not easy. Even young ladies entering in pageants where being fully clad is the norm get their share of hate from the general public. Hate is normal and to be expected, we just have to try our best to rise above. Of course there is also an element of grudge sometimes, but fortunately that does not seen to enter into the Caribbean arena just yet.
Barbados has many beautiful ladies so I know that the Banks calendar will be at its best, as usual. Maybe I should forge an alliance with the Bajan Paparazzi, and just maybe I get to shoot the Bajan beauties that vie for the Banks 2015 calendar.
One final thing, many of us do not seem to recognize the journey taken by everything on planet Earth. So while we are here we should try to extract as much joy and fulfillment of living as we can. And to that end we should spend much time appreciating what is among us and seeking to make the world a much better place. Spend more time building up rather than tearing down. When you build you get built, and when you tear down you will get that into your life as well. Invest in positives and not negatives. Make the correct investment when ever you can. We only get one chance at this.
Appreciate the Banks calendar ladies, they did a great job, and you cannot do it any better than them.
Saturday morning is not my time for a blog, but I just had to say something, and you would not like to know what all I deleted. I had to be "christian" like about this.
15 December 2013
This is not the end of the story .... and the winner is
