Election count up



People still have national elections on their mind, but they seem to be talking less and less about it as they count up to e-day. Whenever it happens, it happens, and there is no point in trying to hustle it, unless the intention is to try to cause more self distress. I am no scientist but I believe that e-day could come upon us in as little as 25 days. If for some reason I am wrong, and I hope that I am, so that some people can get a chance to catch up on  themselves, e-day could be anywhere within the following 70-days. This is just my unscientific guesstimate. So from today we can begin the count up to 25-days or to 95-days, or somewhere in between. Pick whichever number makes you happier. Personally, it does not matter to me, because I know who I am and where I am heading. So bring on e-day anytime in 25 or 95 days or even later.

The lead up to e-day comes with much excitement for all folks. Everyone in affected by e-day. Don't let anyone try to fool you about them not having any interest in the outcome of e-day. They lie. You have to be dead, and no longer of this world, not to be impacted by something coming out of the talk, chatter or action that surround the events culminating on e-day. Every e-season the new people will bring a different strategy, creativity and innovation to the events. This is SKN, and that is how it is done. Historically, what we do here in 2014 will permeate into other similar e-events in the region. This is just how things are.

I don't know what new we will see in photography. We have some ideas of what we might see in graphics, but we could be in for some real surprises. We just have to wait and see. For me, I am on the side, looking in, and if I am quick enough, may capture a picture or two of the movements. The young people will be in their element, and some of them like flash, moving faster than the eye can follow, so you have to catch them on video or at 10-fps motor drive speed. Speaking about 10-fps motor drive, frames per second, this is what the Canon EOS 7D Mark 2 is capable of. The camera is available in stores from November 17th. The questions are [a] whether e-day will come before or after the 17th, and [b] will I win the lotto in time. Well, there is always plan"B" so no sweat. The EOS 7D is doing a wonderful job anyway.

SKN is still the land of excitement, and with Carnival on the move, we are expecting plenty. Maybe this is the year we see more sexy female troupes, and I really hope that they are well endowed. It makes good photographic sense. I believe that more women participate in Carnival than men do, and we need to do something extra sexy to boost the male participation, even as spectators. I wonder what will be the innovation for this Carnival, Sugar Mas 43 Sexy.

I must be dong something very wrong when more than one or two or three persons on Facebook find to ask me what camera I am using to take the pictures that are posted to my Facebook photo albums. If I was doing the right thing I believe that nobody would have asked at all. I am of the view that my photos are looking normal even though I have not run them through Photoshop or Lightroom, which seem to be hailed as the professional photographic software that separate the men from the boys, or rather the professionals from the amateurs and/or whoever else, in the field of photographic reproduction. I am just making a 'comeback' into photography and really don't have the time to tangle with Photoshop and its alleged steep learning curve. I still have to learn why I must use Photoshop to alter the reality captured by my camera. Photo school indeed!!!!

I believe that Facebook is a rather nice place to 'lime' if and when you don't have anything better to do. If because a person would always have something better to do, like sleep, instead of Farming at 2, 3 and 4 o'clock in the morning. When is your consciously controlled time to 'lime' with your Facebook friends and family. The Facebook addiction may be a reality but nobody is taking that on these days. It may be better to be facing-the-book than out on the street, and getting into trouble, because that usually finds you especially when you least expect it. The Government of St Kitts and Nevis should be pleased to see so many of our people Facebook farming, and I hope that when they drop this interest in the real world, they are prepared to deal with the Agricultural revolution. 12 MP could be better

Who is really right? Some folks say that 6 MP is the ideal camera, some say no, it needs for more MP than that. So who really correct? Is it that they running race with film? Maybe the minimum MP has to do with the application. I believe that the human mind can spin you a perfect image with the minimum of MP. You don't have to see anything to conjure up a picture. We put you in an alleged "haunted house" and you see who and what you want to see, crystal clear, and you get free sounds too. Maybe the camera is really for mind control, because some of us still do not believe the images that we see in black-and-white or color. This could call for research.
