skb day 29

Many 'things' received their head recently. skn is finally in election mode. The 6th and 16th are expected to be historic days. All days are historic as long as you can talk about it. Yesterday was an historic day, as was the day before. The 17th will be an historic day and our skn will continue to be a better place. It is not us who have placed skn where it is, and with or without us, skn will continue to prosper, and our people will have the greatest of health if they would only follow the principles of nature for longevity. As to photography in this 'crazy' time of electioneering campaigns, which rival and even outdo carnival in many respects, I suspect the focus can be an aspect of 'candid portraiture', as some participants will display uncontrolled emotions at various times in the lifetime of the campaign. The carnival spectators are now the participants at election functions, the only thing lacking is a competition and pageant for king and queen, but t

Peace has finally been restored to our land of beauty, as we take a break before moving on to the next level.. We always had 'traditional' peace here, but it seems to me that for the last couple years some people tried to implement their brand of peace, probably in order to create a new skn environment. All that is now history, and skn goes into yet another history generating phase. I am of the view that EVERYTHING that has taken place, is taking place and will take place in our twin island Federation will impact our Caribbean and the world at large in ways we cannot begin to comprehend or imagine. This is not the first time nor will it be the last. 50,000 thousand people, 100 square miles, year 2015, 2020, 2025. 8-4-9-5.  I am getting to like the EOS-70D camera, being lighter than the EOS-7D, but whenever I feel a spray and see rain I have to scramble for a plastic bag. It is not water proof like the EOS-7D. I will get around to movies if and when it becomes necessary

We live in exciting times, and the times in SK are indeed exciting. Of course it all depends on what excites us, because what is joke to one person could be death to another. I believe that anything pertaining to life is indeed serious, but we have to learn not just to see the humour in life and living, but to be able to laugh about it, and laugh very hard too. Life is short and we need to live it to the fullest. We all need to exercise daily, and maybe senior citizens more so. I see many senior citizens who I suspect are in dire need of exercise, and I really feel it for them. There was a time that I fell into the non-exercise rut, and it got deep the more I tried to get out. No one was helping, I don't even believe that many persons know that exercise is to be taken in the same proportion like food and water. These are three of the main ingredients for living and longevity, but no one is telling us about exercise. Exercise is a natural process like drinking and eating.

Day 5, and what are we looking forward to? Some of us are still locked into party mode, It is a Caribbean thing, and no we are not giving up on it easy. But whatever the mode, we have developed the ability to work just as hard the day after as though nothing happened.  It is just the flexibility of our people. Work hard. Party harder. From the hits and likes on Facebook pictures we can detect some future trends, not that anything is under threat, but some changes, or maybe more like additions, could be in our future activities. Variety. Not that it matters, because when we are having a good time, it can only get better. The food vendor this year did not skimp on anything. Everything you could ever want was provided. Our oriental visitors still have to drink what we drink and eat what we eat, unless they brought their our private stash of delicacies and concoctions. So now the merriment is on pause for the next few weeks as we recuperate from Carnival
