professionalism on trial
It is good that I have my blog to 'let off' every now and then. There now seems to be so much more wickedness, injustice and disrespect in the world these days. I thought the world was becoming a better place by the hour as the social scientists are working overtime to save the planet, but there are some 'elementals' who are running wild on the fresh turf, maybe quite oblivious to what is going on with regard to our survival on this planet, making war, not love and peace.
On Facebook I see the "black" photographer from America is still taking his text out on the young "black and beautiful" female model from Jamaica. He seems rather proud that he can talk his mind, and tells it as he sees it, or more correctly, as he thinks he sees it. It gets to the point where one of his buddies, a photographer from Trinidad, jokingly refers to him as Jesus, but I can feel that he is not 101% behind his pal. I mean, how could the Trini back up his American buddy who is seriously criticizing another Caribbean person, one of our female models.
We are here to help each other. Talking in general about models and photographers. We are not here to get into the model's personal affairs and chide [more like harass] them in public because we recognize that they could have some personal habits that may need attention, if they are to get to their promised land. A photographer cannot know where a model wants to go. We can assume, but only the models can decide on their destination. Some models are happy to make the runway, and some are not for there. Photography is to record and portray the journey, transitions as it were, as models move up, across and away. Some photographers could loose their way if they are not carefully focussed.
For a photographer to publicly disrespect a young lady, an upcoming model, was unheard of and unthinkable, once ago, but seems to be something quite acceptable in today's world. I have to wonder if photography is going to the dogs, or what. Maybe the dogs have come to photography. I say this with the greatest respect for people, persons and photography, but we have to face the reality that "people", some with education and some with money, will seek to elevate themselves to the highest levels. As to whether they should be where they want to be is another matter, but they will get there, some by hook, some by crook, whether they are "prepared" for "it" or not, and there is nothing that we can do about it, so calling them square peg is the truth, but just a waste of time. This is a fact of life. This is reality.
Here is a little piece of the ongoing saga
Black nail polish was not bugging me, it was your bad habit :P
And it shows you trying to hide it in the way you pose you are self conscious about it (yes I can tell)
LOL!! I usally dont say what I see it annoys some ... :P
Theres things I learn (inherit) because the way I do things its the little details that tell you how a person feels..
I dont hate it be you!!!!
Enough said and I hope this is the end of that. I will keep an eye on this young model to see if she has dropped out of his sights.
