... and I feel
Let me first publicly thank my Facebook photographer brothers and sisters for tagging me in their photos. I feel honored ... but since they have opened the door and invited me into their photography, I cannot resist the temptation to make a few positive comments on and about the "tagged photos" and the photography. Constructive criticism is positive feedback, but many of our Caribbean people still can't handle that, especially when the comments are made in public, or in private and then later publicized. I do not critique nor do I provide constructive criticism. I am not in any position to asses your creative photographic expression and presentation, but I can have a view as to how I would re-work a presentation, to my taste. It is not unlike some tasty Caribbean food, to which some folks just have to add "hot pepper sauce" to zap it up to their taste. I think you catch where I am coming from.
Next, let me also thank the viewers to my Facebook photo albums, those making both positive and negative comments. The negative comments pertain to the content and not the art of photography. Technically you are not qualified to comment on the "photography" unless you are a 'duly qualified photographer', but you know in our Caribbean everybody is a tamarind tree qualified photographer, so we have to take what we get, but we can all live with that ... because it is just the way life is in our Caribbean.
Let me specifically say "thank you" to all the St Kitts and Nevis people, at home and abroad, for whom the Facebook photo albums are designed. I see that my head was screwed on right when I thought that our Nationals, especially those overseas, needed to be updated with what was and is happening back here at home. I am particularly pleased to bring some joy and hope to those folks who have not been home in 25 and 30 years. I must also express condolences to the family of some folks who returned home after some 20+ years and subsequently "kicked the bucket". Some folks, who should know, claim that the shock of seeing our modernized SKN, including R.L.B International Airport and Port Zante Cruise Pier was just too much. My Facebook albums should help to preview and bring a measure of reality to the world of Nationals who have been out of sync with St Kitts and Nevis for some 20 years. They are truly overdue for a visit.
While I am in the "thank you" mode let me also acknowledge the "walkabout fans" ... walkabout is not about me. Walkabout is about all of us who need to consider doing that daily for [a] our health, [b] our community and [c] our country. It would be GREAT if those persons with suggestions for establishing a "walkabout" group, can themselves establish just such a walkabout group on their street, in their community, and village. As a matter of fact there are already walkabout groups, the folks who are walking for exercise all over our SKN at mornings and evenings. Those who believe they have strong hearts may want to take their walkabout to another level, and "walkabout" their community every day and do the Joshua/Jericho. Most of us know the biblical account of "Joshua and Jericho", so let us give it a shot, and take back what is ours.
When you have established your 'walkabout' group, give me a call so that I can photograph your 'walkabout' group and put it on Facebook for the whole world to see that we are serious about taking back what is ours.
