Friday afternoon roadside advert on my street January almost half gone, and I am just getting here  ... Happy New Year. Sugar Mas 48 was a big surprise and it caught me off guard. What I expected and planned for did not come.   Life is like that. We plan for things because we believe that we know, but we cannot take all the variables into consideration, because there is always that one unknown elusive factor, which holds the key to the result that we expect. In time we learn to live with the results, unfortunately, some of us never learn to re-adjust our mentality to suit the new environment. But SKB is a place where the impossible does not exist for all those of the correct mindset. In Sugar Mas 48 I missed seeing some photographers who have been here making pictures and videos over the last decade or so. From my corner I saw that there was a 50% increase of photographers, and I mean youths with DSLR cameras. These days everybody is a photographer because their...

skb day 220

I was recently invaded by a troupe of monkeys after sunset. I suspect that some of them needed a dinner snack. I captured a few moments which some FB viewers rather liked. This 'maternal' happens in all species, but some are better at it than others. However, when it comes to food and the distribution of food that is a whole different story. But if 'now' is not a reality, we need to fast forward to 'plan B'. I am continuing my research into electronic interacting with monkeys that invade my property. They are attracted to action videos. These are some hot days. The peak of our hurricane activity period in a few days and no ...

Ms Nevis for Sugar Mas 43 National Carnival Queen

Image
I was out very late last evening, till about nine. It was the official opening of Sugar Mas 43 National Carnival at Shoreline, on the Bay Road, West of the old Treasury Building now home to the National Trust and Museum. It does not matter how much rain had come, that show was not going to get no bus [burst]. As long as there is music, there is show. No if, no but, no nothing. This might be a rainy season, so band man take warning, rain or no rain just be there, and on time to. I was there early because I wanted to see who was going in for NATIONAL QUEEN. Not that I would know anyone in this young generation of queens, but I just might find someone to support. After their 5 minute promenade on the stage, I am now backing Ms NEVIS for Sugar Mas 43 National Carnival Queen. Usually I support the contestant sponsored by LIME, it is just something I did from the days of being a Lime employee. This year I am backing Ms Nevis, irrespective of sponsor, and we will see what is going to hap...
