 I was begining to look out for CARNIVAL 50, even though it was not going to be anything like what we have grown accustomed to over the years, but it would be something rather than nothing, but now the people in charge are putting certain "things" on pause because another "strain" is supposedly on the loose. I do not have any problem with cancelling anything, and changing plans and programs in the public interest, because we should expect this action from people who are trying their very best to err on the side of caution, and to keep our nation safe. However, nothing has been said yet about the possible effects of the "strain"on our CARNIVAL 50 which is running in de bubble. It is very strange that this or similar action did not apply to the International Cricket hosted in SKB just  months ago, where our safety was tried, tested and proven with a real community spread in the thousands, during the tournament period, but evasive action is already put in pla...

It is a good thing when the youths of today get involved in wholesome activities like sports. I was rather surprised one Sunday when my son, Vidal, asked me if I was coming to Basket Ball City to take some pictures of "his" team. Of course I had to show support, skipped my already late lunch, and  made my way to the court. After all these years some things don't change. As motivation, I must say that there is significant improvement, but will not quantify that here. When I win the lotto I will seek to sponsor this team, and pay them a salary. I don't think any more motivation than that is required.   The Deputy Prime Minister and a former Minister of Sport accompanied by the Queens of Carnival inspect and greet the basketball teams.
