SIDF EXPO

Image
The SIDF EXPO at Independence Square on August 22nd 2014 was interesting and educational for me. The highlight of this event was the electricity lamp display. We all want to pay less and save more, so we all welcome the SIDF and its free LED household lamp project. For those of us who want to carry savings to another level, we only need to get the solar panels and matching power packs or power supplies, and we could be set for life. A one time cost outlay, and no bills to pay [for lights] for the rest of our life. I suspect there will be solar power supply options available for fridge, stove, washer, water heating and air conditioning. Most of us visit a restaurant or snackette, but we can't live by the light from our cell phone or portable device. Light and the absence of light, is what most photography is about. Some photographer always want to experiment with any light source available, to see if they can shape and bend the light to meet their demands. It is surpris...

YES, we ready!!

I feel like blogging today. This is not the long talk blog, and you are only here for the photos. I am not keeping up any long talk. You know where I am, and I know where you are, and that settles it. Three months have gone by, just like that. Easter Monday, Labour Day, Green Valley, Music Festival, Culturama, Independence and Carnival are upon us again, and with speed. If we take too long to wink, we miss them. We can't afford to wink these days, we have to keep we eyes open 24x7. These days is the politics like it running things, or for some people ruining things. Given the times that we now live in we all must learn to adjust, and adjust real fast, or we will get left behind, and way behind at that. These are not the days of one today and one tomorrow. I believe that the 'laid back Caribbean' of yesterday is passing, and in some instances, have passed, but some of us are not ready for the modern Caribbean of today. This is 2014. Continue to bring on the technolog...

Black Friday again

Image
Another 'black Friday' is here. I never bothered to Google search 'black Friday' because the quality of our 'black Friday' is determined by our state of mind. The color 'black' or that which is referenced as 'black' have its crowd. There are those of us who live in 'black' clothes, and we will tell you that 'it works for us'. For another set of persons 'black' is the the embodiment of things 'evil'. It is all a matter of personal opinion, but black for me is expressive of some things to do with photography, and it is all good, nothing psycho, nothing evil, nothing superstitious ... so, black Friday will not impact negatively on my photography in any way. But if you are superstitious don't wear black, and keep out of the sun. Be like a vampire and stay in the dark of 'black Friday'. I am now a rogue photographer since I no longer adhere to the 'prescribed' rules of photography. Incidental...

No!! I am not missing-in-action nor am I missing any action. I purposefully missed posting here in May, but I did not miss any action or activity in May. I felt that I should not upset the viewers who are allergic to bright colours like RED. May is a RED month for some people. Some wear it on their back, while others just "see" it, and some may even get traumatized by it [because they want to], and the smattering of yellow between the red in any crowd, really makes for a good snap. But it does far more than that. It tells me that we are much better than we know we are, and can really live in peace and harmony, irrespective of our differences, political or otherwise. It shows too that we are in our lane, and we just need to STAY in our lane, not cause any ruckus, and all will be well in SKN. But we love drama, and without it we do not seem to be happy. We are now into the holiday months until 2013. Every month of the year following Easter we have a holiday, holidays and hol...

action can't done

The excitement in SK continued. I see more locals youths riding bikes, but they do not look anything like these. They make a high pitched sound and disappear around a corner or in the distance, before you even recognize that you heard them. I grew up with a "Trail 90" and never graduated to the 375. This biking is all related to the tourism product. I know your question, but I am no analyst so I am staying out of that discussion. Given the size of SKN, this could be the local bike of choice. I can visualize cruising around SK .... at 32 miles per hour I am back home in 60-minutes. Gosh at the "Ninja" speed I am back home before I leave. WOW!!! To really enjoy SK Harley travel 4 miles per hour maybe about right. I wonder what size gas tanks are fitted? Anyone in favour of a pedal bike with an assistance motor? I thing that is the lifestyle model, for seniors like me. Anyway it is nice to see SK still moving and attracting. Of course we are attracting a heck o...
