SIDF EXPO

The SIDF EXPO at Independence Square on August 22nd 2014 was interesting and educational for me. The highlight of this event was the electricity lamp display. We all want to pay less and save more, so we all welcome the SIDF and its free LED household lamp project.

For those of us who want to carry savings to another level, we only need to get the solar panels and matching power packs or power supplies, and we could be set for life. A one time cost outlay, and no bills to pay [for lights] for the rest of our life. I suspect there will be solar power supply options available for fridge, stove, washer, water heating and air conditioning. Most of us visit a restaurant or snackette, but we can't live by the light from our cell phone or portable device.

Light and the absence of light, is what most photography is about. Some photographer always want to experiment with any light source available, to see if they can shape and bend the light to meet their demands. It is surprising to what lengths some photographers would go.

I am not off the deep end, but I am on patiently waiting to buy my first 100 of these new LED bulbs, as soon as they go on sale in SK, to build a series of studio and portrait beauty lighting systems.

Similar looking lamps are seen on Amazon.com but the light specifications are not the same. The SIDF bulbs are 9000 lumens and 6000K. This should prove to be a rather interesting project, and you will the first to see the pictures, right here.

My pictures captured at the SIDF EXPO can be found in this album. Follow the link below now.
