SIDF EXPO

Image
The SIDF EXPO at Independence Square on August 22nd 2014 was interesting and educational for me. The highlight of this event was the electricity lamp display. We all want to pay less and save more, so we all welcome the SIDF and its free LED household lamp project. For those of us who want to carry savings to another level, we only need to get the solar panels and matching power packs or power supplies, and we could be set for life. A one time cost outlay, and no bills to pay [for lights] for the rest of our life. I suspect there will be solar power supply options available for fridge, stove, washer, water heating and air conditioning. Most of us visit a restaurant or snackette, but we can't live by the light from our cell phone or portable device. Light and the absence of light, is what most photography is about. Some photographer always want to experiment with any light source available, to see if they can shape and bend the light to meet their demands. It is surpris...

Election. SIDF. GAS

I am very cautious when words like SEXY are used to describe our Federation or any part of it. Given that some people are more into an election mode than others, it is quite possible for some of us to invent the most uncomplimentary phrases, in our attempt to score 'political' points. This is nothing new, and something we learn to endure every election season. We know that every generation is smarter than the last, but the same dumbness, of certain aspect of 'the politics' just seem to creep and follow. It may appear as the most insult to our intelligence, but at the end of the day it seems quite acceptable to be a part of the election flavour. Nobody feel no way, but it is something that someone needs to look at, if we are ever to change the culture that some people speak so passionately about. Unfortunately, it would appear that we still must try not to take it personal, it is just how business is done in this season. But whenever the opportunity comes our way to m...

Election a come

Image
I like it here in St Kitts and Nevis. We are never short on excitement. Cricket ain't well finish, the know it all media is giving us a date for the General Elections in SKN, which are constitutionally due in 2015. I just love this place. Music can't done. Photography can't done either. News can't done. The never ending monthly excitement continues. I also hope we are getting just as excited over the second coming of the KING. There are many things to talk about in SKN, but when Federal elections are in the air, many of these life changing issues just get deleted, because the next government of the people is expected to usher in "a new thing", like heaven on earth. I have been around for a while and I am yet to see this happen. It may be true that some circumstances or situations improve, but the changes that the people really think that they want do not happen. And it is like the would be politicians forget what they told the constituents in the campaig...

August ...!!

If I was a different kind of person this post heading could be followed by an 'F' word, with an exclamation mark or two. But don't let me deprive you, feel free to use your imagination as creatively as you wish. For those of us who feel 'holier than' we need to understand a few things. We live in a very real world, and if we ain't doing anything to change the culture, we need to shut up, either get with it, or move on.  Now, having done with the pleasantries and housekeeping, let us move on and get into my August. I am happy to be alive, Thanks and Praise to the Master, the Creator, for my being here on planet earth at this time. I am seeing and doing some things never dreamed of. We know that all things are possible, we only need to believe. But that is something many of us have a problem with. We need to see to believe. But we need to see in more than one dimension. Some folks will tell us that we have to use our brain and our heart, and some may say use ...
