Election a come

I like it here in St Kitts and Nevis. We are never short on excitement. Cricket ain't well finish, the know it all media is giving us a date for the General Elections in SKN, which are constitutionally due in 2015. I just love this place. Music can't done. Photography can't done either. News can't done. The never ending monthly excitement continues. I also hope we are getting just as excited over the second coming of the KING.

There are many things to talk about in SKN, but when Federal elections are in the air, many of these life changing issues just get deleted, because the next government of the people is expected to usher in "a new thing", like heaven on earth. I have been around for a while and I am yet to see this happen. It may be true that some circumstances or situations improve, but the changes that the people really think that they want do not happen. And it is like the would be politicians forget what they told the constituents in the campaign, and the voters forget what they were told they were voting for. The most fanciful stories can be told by any opposition, anywhere, anytime, but this is not my story. The voters always think they that know what they are getting into. They really think that they do.

So according to the media we will begin to see colours and more colours on our streets, and everywhere. For this election season I may have to shoot in black and white, to resolve any possible difficulty with friends or family. I suspect that some people will have a hard time living in the 'non-political' colours, like black, purple, magenta and nude. For me I am taking this opportunity to add more colour to my wardrobe. I believe the following to be the official political and election colours in SKN, of course I can be corrected. RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, and WHITE. The other [three or four] political parties are still to declare their colours.

So these days we don't wind down from any event, we just move straight from one big action event into a bigger action event. Some are saying that the recent Rick big show, with buy one and get one free, was part of the election campaign too. Well, I don't know anything about that, and it really sound more like stupidness to me. What I do know is that we live in serious economic times and we may all need to read the book on 'guerrilla marketing', it may help some of us to acquire a more right  perspective.

We are done with CPL and cricket. It was a an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. It put me under a pressure, which senior citizens sometimes need to get under to keep appreciating life and living. I now recognize some daily requirements of senior citizenship. My greatest appreciation to the 3 [local] ladies of the event. Gosh, I believe they are all 'single', maybe I get an opportunity to take their wedding pictures.

All my cricket photography was done with one lens Canon EF-S 18-200mm IS. According to www.DXOMark.com  this is one of the worst lenses for my camera. I do not expect it to be the best lens in the world, but it is my walkabout lens, and I get all that I need as I walkabout with it. So I decided to see what it could deliver under the new stadium lights. Using a Canon EOS-7D body, hand held, no monopod, no tripod, no fill flash, no photoshop, the cricket images in the albums were produced. I could have done with a higher ISO, [12,000 or 28,000] but I am not complaining, and I really tested the camera on these shooting events

Now let us see an image or maybe two.

I believe I will add a few more images later

[to be continued]
